Client Services Support Rep

The Idea Foundry seeks a client services support representative to deliver exceptional customer service to members, visitors, and students. This role is PT (hourly), with up to FT hourly available, and includes benefits such as unlimited Foundry classes, a casual and creative “mature startup” environment with an expansive professional network, Aflac supplemental insurance options, and a stipend towards healthcare expenses for FT staff.

As an institution of lifelong learning, possession of a conventional degree is negotiable, although the ideal candidate demonstrates experience in customer service with strong interpersonal and professional communication skills, great phone & email etiquette, has the ability to self-manage their own time and calendar, ability to coordinate across multiple workgroups, and strong computer literacy with basic research skills.

This role includes handling money and potentially sensitive client information, so the successful candidate must be able to pass appropriate background checks demonstrating a history free of fraud, theft, or related crimes, as well as violent crime.

Presently we are hiring for our first shift (7:45am-to 4:30pm); pay will be commensurate with qualifications and how much of this job role the candidate comes prepared to fill, starting $10-14/hour (may be eligible for additional base pay as duties are increased).

FRONT DESK SUPPORT

● Staffs the front desk/reception area as scheduled and serves as primary customer service representative, answering emails, phone calls, and in-person customer service inquiries while at desk.

● Greets visitors and explains visitor check-in and relevant policies and wayfinding as needed.

● Cross-trained on platforms such as Google Suite, Cobot, Occasion, Salesforce, etc. so that common member and student needs can be met--such as adding/removing items to the shared calendars, reserving conference or event rooms, cancelling/registering/transferring students registered for classes, data entry into CRM, etc.

● May support student experience for check-ins, and prepare student material such as class folders or rosters for instructors

● May occasionally be assigned as a representative during on-site community outreach events or to host tours or orientations

● Other duties as assigned, relating to customer experience

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE & RECEIVABLE SUPPORT

● Records payments made in-person at the desk and maintains petty cash drawer; Use of point-of-sale terminal to facilitate in-person sales.

● Interfaces with bookkeeping service staff as needed.

● Other data entry or bookkeeping support activities as assigned.

L.A. Catering – Catering Captain

STATUS:  Full-time (40 hours a week)
LOCATION OF Work: 670 Harmon Avenue (varies on and off site)
REPORTS TO: Catering Manager
SHIFT: Monday through Sunday (depending on banquet schedule)

POSITION SUMMARY:  Coordinate all aspects of catering events, including set-up, event, and break down.  Act as a liaison between client and staff to ensure all details of event are done correctly.  Directly responsible for all equipment and vehicles used for each event.  Ensure the safety and efficiency of staff by training and use of proper catering and serving techniques.  Make up a supply sheet for all items needed for catering event from the BEO. Have chef or catering coordinator review for accuracy. Review the BEO and the supply sheet to make sure that all items necessary for the event are pulled and properly loaded into the vehicle. Check with chef before leaving that everything has been checked off the food sheet and is properly loaded. Ensure cold foods are being kept at the appropriate temperature and all items are secure for travel. Upon arrival do a walkthrough of the event site and make sure everything is set up properly and in the correct place.  Review timeline of event with all vendors (bartenders, DJ, etc.) to make sure everyone understands the schedule for the events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Must have valid Ohio driver’s license, vehicle available for agency use. Must be able to do manual work including heavy lifting up to 40 pounds, catering event set-up, clean-up and tearing down of sales displays and materials.

LA Catering – Sous Chef

REPORTS TO: Catering Chef

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for food preparation, presentation, and assist in menu development for LA Catering. Also ensures compliance with Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) regulations as well as federal, state, and local health and safety regulations for assigned areas. Responsible for both internal and external catering functions for the agency. Responsible for reports as assigned. This position will manage catering food preparation staff. Work performed in this position will be of a professional and sometimes confidential nature. Work requires attention to detail, flexibility, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple functions at one time. This position will have frequent contact with agency personnel, vendors, clients, funders, and other supporters of the agency. A positive and cooperative image and attitude is crucial for this position. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Catering Chef. This position requires a significant amount of independence, self-direction and self- discipline to accomplish the essential functions and responsibilities.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for food preparation, presentation and assist in menu development for LA Catering.

Ensures all food products are prepared according to standardized recipes and established cooking procedures. Ensures meals are produced according to specifications for taste, quality and appearance. Monitors portion control of foods produced. Helps develops and standardizes recipes.

Responsible for ensuring compliance with Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) regulations as well as federal, state, and local health and safety regulations. This would also include completing regulatory paperwork, ensuring staff compliance with sanitary procedures, and monitoring assigned areas for quality control.

Responsible for both internal and external catering functions for the agency. Coordinates the menu and delivery with appropriate department or customer. Ensures food produced meets departmental standards for quality, taste and appearance.

Responsible for supervision of the catering food preparation staff. Ensures staff is following all departmental procedures.

Functions as a member of the management team. Promotes a professional image to all clients, vendors, employees and the community. Represents the agency at various functions and participates on committees as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a large institutional kitchen. May work in refrigerated and freezer areas in the kitchen. Also works with the catering staff in offsite caterings at different locations thru out the city including businesses and residential properties. Works scheduled hours per day between a.m. opening and p.m. closing, Monday through Friday. Weekend, and holiday work may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Serv Safe Certification required. Two years supervisory experience in which had direct supervision of food production staff. Must have a valid Ohio Drivers License and vehicle available for agency use.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards.

Knowledge of purchasing, food handling and food storage regulations.

Must possess good written and oral communication skills.

Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Knowledge of legal and acceptable supervisory practices related to employee selection, discipline, performance evaluations, and other supervisory duties.

Must possess good organizational skills.

Ability to prioritize and assign tasks.

Ability to exercise independent judgement based on meaningful observations and evaluations.

Ability to maintain and promote effective working relationships with LifeCare Alliance staff, guests, and clients.
